Our Prayer

We have so many children who need families and are still in waiting lists. Within your region, please pray that these children will get families to call their own.

Pray for parents who are looking for children to foster and or adopt to connect with them on time.

Pray for Parents to stay together for this makes a good environment for children to stay with biological parents.

Pray for Kenya. That the Alternative Care for Children shall be a culture cherished by all cultures in the country and that for the best interest of the Child, the process shall favor.

“There is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved”

Our focus areas

Orphan Sunday

We will rally churches to set aside the second Sunday of each November to specifically focus on issues affecting Orphans and Vulnerable Children.

Our Orphan Sunday contact person will take lead in equipping Churches on how to use this occasion as a tool to reach out to not only the church members but also to the community in each locality to raise awareness on Alternative Family care where the focus is understanding biblically the place for all Vulnerable and Orphaned Children in our Society.

This will explain the biblical call we have as a society in terms of taking good care of vulnerable and orphaned children in our society and a call for the congregation to embrace Kinship, Guardianship, Foster care and Adoption as we move away from Institutionalised care of children. This will enable us leave the Institutions to take the role of Rescue to take back to Family.

East African Orphan Summit

To hold a summit every November to share knowledge, collect research findings, scripture and prayers for Orphans and Vulnerable children in the region for dissemination.

This summit will be the highest level of our learning about the challenges and how to improve in everything we go through in the Alternative family Care of Children and Family preservation and empowerment. It will also be a point of Neworking.

Awareness Creation and Sensitization

To sensitize the Christian Community on their God given Role to care for the Orphans and Vulnerable Children in our communities.

To highlight the needs in Christian families to open their hearts and homes to these Children through: – Foster Care, Guardianship, Adoption, support to Adoptive and Foster Care families among other ways.

Training of Trainers

To train and equip Pastors and Church leaders to form the Orphan Care Ministries in their respective Churches.

Upon the formation of the Orphan Care Ministries the respective will then train their Church members on the same and make practical steps to create ways of help supporting the parents that are willing to practice the Alternative family Care as well as building capacity of the ones already doing it.

Capacity Building

ACCA will assess the organisational needs of all its partner / members organisations to better understand their needs and identify areas of capacity building as a way of strengthening their capacity to serve and work better.

Assessment and Capacity building of the churches, faith based organisations, Adoption Agencies and Community based organisations will be based on the expressed need by the respective organisations. All the trainings will be tailor made as per the individual organisation’s needs.

Lobbying and Advocacy

To enable a good environment for the practice and for the best interest of the child, the Alliance will work with all the stake holders and more so the Parliamentary select committee to look into any arising issues in the Children’s Act and any other laws in place to make things flow to the best of the practice.

Our Profile

Before registration, we had a privilege to mobilize likeminded organizations to participate in one of the biggest events that happened for the first time in Kenya in 2013. This consultative conference (The First Adoption Conference in Africa) at the Hilton Hotel which was attended by Organizations from Europe, America, Africa and Kenya. The Principal Secretary, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and the Director, Department of Children Services who both attended hailed the occasion to be a good beginning in the Child Protection in Kenya the Kenyan history.
Then, in November 2014, we were part of the Adoption Month celebration that brought in Orphanages, Churches, Adoption Agencies, the Government of Kenya and Corporate Societies together to sensitize on Child Adoption in Kenya.

We welcome kids into our 2-4’s program based on their birth year.

Children at risk usually struggle to get education funds due to factors ranging from one case to another. In our interventions we place requests to friends, families and likeminded people to support at least one child at a time. Education support is one major encouragement that gives them hope whenever they see themselves with other peers in classrooms.

The sporting activities have always remained a constant social interaction which keep children together and occupied. During such an activity, they are busy and not exposed to idleness that may land them in abusive situations. We have coaches that keep eyes on them and P/Matrons too. Over (500) five hundred youths are benefiting from this initiative yearly.

Families that are considered to be in danger of break ups need a lot of support to enable children keep within. We therefore engage to help them fix their differences.

Children usually don’t know when it’s too far until they are made aware of how far people from different genders should go. We therefore educate them on these matters to be aware even if it is a close relative.

This is another area of vulnerability for young girls who cannot access sanitary towels. We always educate them on how to avoid favors done with expectations after. The opposite gender may want to support on the provision of sanitary towels but expects an exchange of favor too. We make them aware of how to detect such favors.

Equipping children with knowledge and strategies to protect themselves from abduction is crucial for their safety. Through our education programs on abduction, we raise awareness among children about the risks and tactics used by abductors. We provide guidance on how to recognize and avoid dangerous situations, as well as steps to take if approached by a stranger. By empowering children with the necessary information and skills, we aim to reduce the likelihood of abduction and keep them safe from harm.

Empowering girls with knowledge about menstrual health is essential for their well-being and dignity. Through our menstrual health awareness initiatives, we educate young girls about menstruation, hygiene practices, and the importance of using sanitary products. By breaking the silence and stigma surrounding menstruation, we help girls manage their periods confidently and stay healthy and focused on their education and personal development.

Every child deserves to know and assert their rights. Our awareness campaigns on children's rights aim to educate children and caregivers about the fundamental rights guaranteed to every child, as outlined in international conventions and national laws. By promoting awareness and understanding of children's rights, we empower children to speak up against abuse, exploitation, and discrimination, ensuring their protection and well-being in all aspects of their lives.
